We had a first loan with an adjustable rate at 7.5% and had adjusted to 9.25%. Our payment was $2700.00 and was increasing to $3480.00 interest only. We were behind 6 months on our payments and had a difficult time affording the payments. Our second loan was at 9.25% and was continuing to increase monthly. We hired the Ashouri Law Offices to assist us in modifying our loans.

The office was extremely professional and attentive. The attorneys were knowledgeable of the loan contracts and understood our situation. Mr. Ashouri personally overlooked and monitored the entire process. It took about 5 weeks and we couldn’t be happier with the result. The law office was successful in modifying our loan as follows:

• On the first loan, they changed it from a variable loan to a fixed rate loan.
• They brought the interest rate down to 3.25% in a step program for the first year, and 4.25% for the second year and 5% for the entire remainder of the loan.
• The payments now are $2150.00 including principal and interest.
• Our past due amount equal to six months of missed payments was added to our principal.
• The remaining length of the loan remained as it was.
• Our first payment under the modification will not be due till January 2009.
• On the second loan they modified it down to 2.74%.

This meant that we could afford keeping our home and our payment was lowered. Additionally the Ashouri Law Office assisted us without any additional charge to file a request for reassessment of our property for property tax purposes because of declining property values and this alone will save us at least $2000.00 per year in property taxes for as long as we live in our home. Overall we were extremely happy and satisfied with our experience and the result we got from the services and have recommended them to our friends and family.
